We’ve let some lower quality articles slip through the cracks over the past few months and we’ve decided that it’s time to clean up the mess.

If you notice that your articles have gone missing or that your account has been banned, I’m sorry to inform you that your account was flagged, reviewed and the appropriate action was taken, as you were clearly breaking the rules of our community.

When we first set out to build Galoor, we knew that we wanted to build a great community with high quality content. Unfortunately, time has slipped by and we’re a bit behind our plans at the moment, and while we tried to catch up – we somehow brought the quality down while trying to rush things.

From here on out we will be more strict with our approval process, so we promise that we are targeting those accounts who have already posted sales pitches, articles with no value, spun content, etc. We’re removing them as quickly as we can, but if you find any yourself, feel free to let us know!

We’re doing our best to get back to being a high quality community all the way around, so please let us know how we’re doing or give us any feedback that you may have!

We’re constantly having to deny articles that are submitted to us by writers who are trying to write articles based on features of their products or services. Unfortunately, we do not allow ‘sales pitches’ or any type of pure marketing material.

We strive to provide our readers the very best quality of information. Information that gives them answers or solutions to problems.

Although I’ve written about this subject many times over, there is another easy tip to remember here: explain how your product or service benefits someone. Don’t get me wrong, we won’t accept an article that’s simply selling a product or service, based on benefits or not. However, when you write about benefits that your product or service provides, you’re able to easily come up with quality information that can help the reader.

By doing this you have a better chance of getting your article(s) accepted on Galoor.com.

Again, I’m not asking you to sell your product and service, but simply providing information that can help them via benefits.

We realize that we’re pretty strict on quality, but that’s how it will always be. We’re not another ‘article directory’ looking to make some short-term adsense income. We’re here to help readers get information that will help them and we’re hoping that we can reward our writers by doing so. We’ll have more information on that in the future.

If you have any questions on this, please ask below!

I know that a lot of Affiliates and SEO’s think that article syndication is the way to go for Article Marketing, but not me. In fact, most experienced SEO’s that I know, who have worked on large sites, will tell you that it’s not as beneficial as most think, these days.

I bring this subject up because I’ve recently had a guy contact me about it. This guy owns an article directory directory. Weird, I know. Anyways, he threatened to remove me because I didn’t accept his spun content that he had already syndicated through many other sites. Our guidelines clearly state that this isn’t acceptable and we won’t be changing those for any one person.

We have a vision and we are going to stick to that vision until it becomes clear (no pun intended) that our vision is not going to be successful. So far, our vision of having a high quality directory has been successful in our minds.

So, back to this guy. He was a strange one, even threatened me and called me a coward for not arguing with him and not obeying his thoughts. I’m all ears when someone gives me feedback, but I won’t allow someone to call me names or make threats. I basically told him to have a nice day, but he continued to tell me that I didn’t run an “article directory.” He stated that I “held the content hostage.”

That’s funny. I never forced anyone to submit their content, nor would I keep it if they asked to remove it. Our rules specifically state that we do not allow duplicate content. This means that if you submit your article to other directories, then you cannot get it approved on our site. It’s that simple.

At Galoor, we have constantly stated that we’re a HIGH quality article directory. This means that we don’t allow spun content and we won’t allow content that already exists on another site.

Oddly enough, he removed us, but I told him that he should probably remove EzineArticles, too. They’re very strict as well. His reply was “they get content.” (strange reply, since EZA helped build this industry, yet he says that the way they run their site isn’t article marketing)

There’s no doubt about it, they get a lot of content. That doesn’t mean we will go down a level and become the same as every other article directory that accepts anything and everything. That would be foolish. We might as well install a free article directory script and call it a day, right?

No way, that’s not the way we do things. Everything about Galoor is based on high standards. We do our best to do everything right and we will continue to expect our authors to provide great content, as most do.

Why are we that strict? Because we don’t become “one of those” sites. A content farm, built solely for the adsense impressions. We’re out to provide our readers with QUALITY.

I don’t understand why this person couldn’t understand that. Maybe it’s a language barrier? Who knows. However, Galoor.com will continue to run as-is. We’re not looking to become the fastest growing article directory, based on the amount of articles. We’re quality over quantity. We’d like to be both, obviously, but since we have to choose – we choose quality.

So, to keep things simple, Galoor.com will deny any article that’s being syndicated through other sites. We’re sorry if this offends anyone, but we won’t be bending or breaking any of our own rules. Please understand that we work our butts off to make this site high quality, each and every day. We may not be perfect, but we try to stick to our guns.

There’s so much more to content marketing than spreading the same message to a million sites. If you focus on delivering a great message, people will syndicate it for you, naturally. Write great content and you will get much better long-term results.

We recently blasted out a Press Release explaining that we have officially opened up registrations to the public.

You can read that on PRWeb or on Yahoo.

This means that any Business owner or Entrepreneur (or anyone who is an expert on a subject) can quickly and easily add an article (that is helpful, of course). We’re very excited to get the opportunity to work with so many established, and even up and coming Businesses.

Just be sure that when you do submit your articles, that you do so with the intention of providing unique and helpful content. We will not accept content that has been submitted elsewhere, nor will we accept sales pitches, spun content or low quality content that’s been submitted for links…

We do allow up to 2 links per article, however this is for larger, more high quality articles.

If you have any questions, please ask below!

Most people who have never written articles may have trouble getting started due to the lack of ideas they can write about. So, how do you come up with these ideas?

Generally, most Business Owners and Entrepreneurs have had experience in dealing with customers/clients, which should bring forth plenty of ideas to discuss.

For instance, if you’ve been dealing with phone calls, walk-in’s or emails, you’ve probably had a lot of the same questions from people. In fact, most of those questions may already be on your website’s “FAQ” (Frequently Asked Questions) page. At Galoor, we already have one up and we’ll constantly update it with questions and answers.

These FAQ’s will give you a lot of ideas on the subjects that you could/should talk about in your articles. These are the most interesting questions to your customers, so why shouldn’t you talk about them?

People will search Google with their questions in order to find these answers. This is why you should use a platform like Galoor to answer them and build a rapport with these people. This will help you win over new customers in the future. The more helpful you are, the more potential you’re creating for yourself.

If I’m a new Business owner, I’m going to go out and create articles on every big question my customers (will) have, and then write super helpful content that will help answer their questions. With a suttle link at the end, how can you fail? You can’t.

You may not get immediate traffic, but you will always have your answers there and you’ll create long-term traffic to your website. Content Marketing is just another way you should be marketing your business online, and at Galoor – you’ll find that we’re serious about helping our authors get the biggest return on their (time) investment.

That sounds absolutely crazy!

Actually, it’s crazy to think that you’re LOSING money by writing articles that provide value.

Let me explain…

Most Business Owners and Entrepreneurs realize that they need to explain the products and services that they offer, so they’re willing to pitch the product and attempt to sell the features to the prospective buyer.

But then there’s those who go above and beyond to explain the benefits of having the product or service and will educate that person from the ground up. They’re the types who spend more time than most, and they’re also the types who make more sales.

Most “article directories” want you to write content that brings them traffic and they’re OK with their authors submitting nonsensical sales pitches. In fact, most encourage it. That’s a waste of time.

Also, most “article marketing” courses that you will find are all about aiming for SEO benefits only. They’ll teach you to find good keywords that get a lot of traffic and explain to you that you’ll need 450-700 words for your article. That’s great if you’re submitting to low-quality directories and you’re willing to take that risk.

When you go out and write articles you should be focusing on educating people about something, rather than pitching them on the idea of buying from you or clicking your link.

Sure, you’ll need to get traffic to your articles, but that’s where we come in. Our platform is growing rapidly and we get plenty of views to the articles. As long as you’re submitting articles that provide valuable information about a subject that others will find useful, you will get PLENTY of targeted traffic.

Think about that last sentence. No, you probably won’t get 1,300 views to your article. No, you may not get 500 clicks to your website because you fooled them into believing your link was important in your “author box.”

What you will get is TARGETED TRAFFIC. Real people who are looking for real solutions.

This is what I feel sets us apart from the competition. We’re not going to give you cool advice that will show you how we rank #1 for some long-tail, useless keyword and how you can take advantage of the system. What’s the point? Who is the buyer there and is the article really going to convert those users into sales?

I highly doubt it.

I will promise you that, as long as you’re writing articles that are of value to the reader, you will get plenty of targeted traffic that are real, potential buyers that you would otherwise pay a lot of money for.

These are high quality leads going to your website, all because you wrote high quality, informative content that wasn’t selling them on anything, just informing them.

The key here is to not sell and to not market your company. It’s to market and brand yourself as an Authority in your field/niche/market/whatever. Even if you currently work for another company, but have an idea that you would like to turn into a business, you can create your own brand with “article marketing.”

Again, you do this by helping the reader, just as you would if they walked into your store. You’re simply helping them find the right solution for their problem, but you’re not pushing them into buying. Pushy sales tactics don’t work online anyway.

Educating a person with questions or finding a solution to their problems = awesome marketing. It’s UNMarketing, if that even exists. You’re building rapport through content and making the reader trust you.

Give this a shot and you’ll see that it’s not some random theory, this is what will separate you from your competition!

Good question!

1) We need a place to discuss what’s going on with the site, including new additions, contests, etc.

2) I feel like there’s more direction and focus with having a blog. Sure, I can continue to write articles, but the fact is – they will “get lost” in the mix of others.

Basically, we wanted to create a place to help our users get more focused tips on using Galoor.com. I’ll be adding posts on all types of subjects, including Branding, Authority, Internet Marketing, SEO, etc.

I may be a bit biased, but I do believe I’ll be providing you with a ton of value that you can’t find very easily
